Indexing and Archiving

Researchers and physicians worldwide make invaluable contributions to advancing human knowledge through their groundbreaking discoveries and expert opinions, which are published by professional scholarly journals. This intellectual output, which leads to significant improvements in healthcare, technology, and quality of life, is the result of diligent work by scientists, rigorous peer review by experts in the field, and funding supported by public institutions and private organizations. A global community of stakeholders is involved in the culmination of scientific output; hence, it is a publisher's duty towards this community to ensure that the research output is professionally archived, catalogued, and indexed on independent, reliable, and publicly accessible platforms for easy search, retrieval, and reuse.

  • The Value of Journal Indexing for Researchers:  Comprehensive and up-to-date journal indexes are invaluable resources for researchers, as they provide searchable databases of focused, peer-reviewed scholarly content. Inclusion in these indexes not only enhances the visibility and accessibility of published research but also serves as a mark of quality and credibility for the journal. The indexing process at reputable platforms is rigorous and time-consuming, as it involves thorough evaluation of the journal's editorial practices, publication ethics, and overall quality.

  • Our Commitment to Indexing and Archiving:  Most reputable scholarly archiving, cataloguing, and indexing platforms have stringent criteria for accepting journals, typically requiring a time-tested commitment to professional publication standards, transparency in editorial processes, stringent peer review, and adherence to high ethical standards. At RVM Publishers, we are committed to meeting these rigorous criteria and are actively communicating with standard archives and indexes, including ROAD, Google Scholar, CiteFactor, CrossRef, DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), and others, to facilitate the collaboration and inclusion of our journal content. Our goal is to ensure that the valuable research published in our journals is widely accessible, discoverable, and properly indexed on respected platforms.

Editorial and Peer Review Process

The recent technological advancements and the continued expansion of the internet have made the reach and benefits of digital scholarly publication limitless. Online scientific and medical literature is referred to by diverse stakeholders, including researchers, physicians, drug developers, educators, students, policymakers, funding agencies, and the general public, to make informed decisions about their respective works, studies, policies, and personal well-being. However, if the scholarly content is not rigorously peer-reviewed and validated by the scientific community, it can mislead the public and cause immeasurable harm. Thus, a stringent and unbiased peer review process by independent subject matter experts is a crucial requirement before any scientific or medical literature is accepted for publication. Ideally, journal publishers should also publish the peer-review summary along with the manuscript to increase transparency and inform readers about critical comments, limitations, and the evaluation process of the published articles.

Our Commitment to Peer Review:  At RVM Publishers, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of peer review for our international, peer-reviewed journals. Our aim is to publish the latest scientific and medical scholarly content of significant impact and quality. All submissions undergo a thorough evaluation process for scope, novelty, impact, ethics, soundness, content organization, language, and adherence to publication guidelines during the initial screening and peer review stages.

The Peer Review Process

  1. Screening and Peer Review Preparation

    • RVM Publishers' staff check submitted articles for scientific rigor, impact, ethical compliance, plagiarism, and compliance with the journal's scope and guidelines.
    • The editorial office contacts the author for any necessary edits, clarifications, or to complete missing information.
    • Manuscripts that pass the initial internal screening are formatted for external expert peer review.

  2. Review by Subject Matter Experts

    • The editorial office identifies and sends review requests to a Handling Editor and at least two other subject matter experts in the area of the manuscript.
    • Reviewers conduct an in-depth and unbiased review of the manuscript and submit their feedback, including recommendations, to the editorial office.
    • The editorial office compiles all comments and sends them to the Handling Editor.

  3. Interim Decision

    • The Handling Editor reviews the manuscript, peer-reviewers' comments, and evaluates the overall quality and significance of the work.
    • The Handling Editor provides their own comments and an interim decision on the manuscript, which can be one of the following:

      • Accept with no revision
      • Accept with minor revision
      • Reconsider after major revision
      • Reject

  4. Revision by Authors

    • The editorial office compiles all comments from reviewers (including the Handling Editor) and sends them to the author(s).
    • For non-rejection cases, the author(s) resubmit the revised manuscript along with a point-by-point response to the reviewers' comments.
    • The editorial office evaluates the completeness of the response to the reviewers' comments and then forwards the revised manuscript and author's response to the Handling Editor.

  5. Final Decision by Handling Editor

    • The Handling Editor reviews the revised manuscript, the author's response, and the overall quality of the revisions.
    • The Handling Editor makes one of the following final decisions:

      • Accept for publication with no further revision
      • Accept for publication with minor revision
      • Reconsider after major revision
      • Reject

    • The Handling Editor may also choose to perform an additional round of peer review in case of major changes or concerns in the revised manuscript.

  6. Production, Publication, and Promotion

    • The peer-review-approved manuscript undergoes a production process for professional typesetting, copyediting, and data processing (including image processing and formatting).
    • The production office sends the final form of the manuscript to the author(s) for proofreading and approval.
    • The article (along with the peer-review summary and other supporting files) is digitally published in the respective RVM Publishers' journal.
    • We promote published articles through news, announcements, press releases, social media, and other relevant channels to increase visibility and accessibility.

Editorial Board Composition:  Each journal's Editorial Board is carefully constructed, keeping in mind the diversity and depth of scientific research in that journal's field. Our editorial board members are distinguished scholars and experts with diverse sets of professional experience, including extensive research experience, publication records, manuscript review experience, mentorship (trained PhDs/MDs/Postdocs), and significant contributions to their respective fields. This ensures a well-rounded and knowledgeable team to oversee the peer review process and maintain the high quality of our publications.

Guidelines for Authors

Ethical conduct is the cornerstone of research and publication, ensuring the virtue and trustworthiness of scientific and medical scholarly output. The soundness, reproducibility, and usability of published content heavily rely on the integrity and ethics followed by authors throughout the entire process, from study design to manuscript preparation.
After completing a research study, authors compile the data along with a comprehensive analysis into a manuscript, which is then submitted to a journal. The journal's staff, handling editors, and peer-reviewers work closely with the authors to improve the manuscript before publication. Our Press provides flexible formatting options, authors should adhere to the recommended structural organization based on the manuscript type.

  • Types of Manuscripts:

    • Original Research:  These articles report primary research conducted by the author(s), providing significant results and discussions. They can build upon previously published peer-reviewed articles and offer evidence-based solutions to research questions.

    • Review Article:  Review articles offer a comparative analysis and overview of a collection of significant past research in a specific field, facilitating a comprehensive understanding. Proper citations are crucial as data is collected from various sources. These articles help scientists understand comparative studies and formulate research strategies to advance scientific discovery.

    • Case Study (Case Report/Clinical Study):  Case studies are based on the observation and treatment of patients. They are conducted by scientists and/or healthcare providers to understand the cause, diagnosis, epidemiology, mechanism, and treatment of diseases. These studies assist researchers across disciplines in designing future studies for understanding and treating diseases.

    • Editorial:  Editorials are short pieces written by members of a journal's editorial board. While they primarily contain the editor's opinion, they reflect the journal's viewpoint on a specific research study. Editorials guide scientists in their future research strategies or provide a summarized overview of scientific studies and their prospects.

    • Other Types (Methodology/Protocol, Commentaries, Conference Proceedings, Clinical Images):  We also publish other types of scientific content, such as research methodologies, clinical essays, commentaries, conference proceedings, and clinical images. These are usually short-form communications that provide precise information about scientific discoveries.

  • Language:  RVM Publishers has a global presence and accepts articles written primarily in English, as it is the commonly used language worldwide, allowing readers from various countries to access the content.

  • Manuscript Sections:

    • Title:  The title should be informative, concise, and captivating, limited to 10-15 words. It should reflect the study's objective and outcome without unnecessary words.

    • Authors List & Affiliations:  Authors should discuss and arrange the author list based on the significance of their contributions to the manuscript.

    • Abstract:  A 200-300 word paragraph summarizing the article's content, describing the initial research question, methodology, and conclusion in an easily understandable manner.
